We're excited to welcome our friends back to the Aquarium at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab on June 2. In accordance with CDC and Alabama Public Health Department guidelines, we've adjusted our operations and increased our cleaning protocols to keep you safe during this time.

The aquarium will open 7 Days a week from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. Before visiting, visitors will need to purchase an admission ticket online. The tickets will be sold at 10-minute intervals to allow for smaller groups and proper social distancing during your visit.

Some exhibits will be adjusted to allow for minimal contact during your visit.

Visitors are also asked to continue to respect the social distancing and handwashing procedures recommended by the CDC. Our staff will also increase the cleaning of the facility throughout the day.

Regions Bank has generously donated funds for the University Programs (UP) to add new microscopes to the classrooms. This is a significant donation which allows the UP to add new more modern microscopes to enhance the instruction of budding young marine scientists! Regions has been a longtime loyal supporter of the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. This is an important gift which will have a lasting impact!

The DISL Foundation would like to thank Dr. Joseph and Jackie Busta and Mr. Bill Haffner for their recent generous gifts to the Dauphin Island Sea Lab to help support campus.

Dr. and Mrs. Busta honored their daughter and son in law, Melea and Curt, whose romance blossomed at the Lab 30 years ago while they attended the Summer High School Marine Science Camp.

Bill Haffner honored his late wife Betsy, an exceptional educator, with a sign on the meeting room in the Wiese building.

The DISL Foundation is supporting the DISL campus through a program of naming opportunities. The entire campus is up for grabs! Opportunities start as little as $1000 and span up to $100,000. Almost any size gift within this range has a room just waiting for you to claim it.

Please help us send under privileged high school students to the Summer Marine Science Course at the Sea Lab by donating to the Jenny Cook Memorial Scholarship Fund. This has been recognized as one of the most important needs for the Discovery Hall Programs. A donation to the fund can make it possible for a child attend the month long program and gain high school credit. Hep us reach our goal so we can make this an annual gift to the Sea Lab.
